Coswick Silk Finish is an innovative environmentally friendly protective and decorative finish that preserves the natural look of natural wood and reliably protects the floor from abrasion, dirt and moisture.
Deep penetrating UV coating based on modified plant-based oils-acrylates. The composition is applied in four layers and forms an invisible but durable film with a slight silky sheen on the surface. Visually and to the touch, the surface of the parquet board is the same as that of natural wood. Silk Finish does not require time-consuming maintenance and is easy to renew.
Silk Finish has high elasticity and resistance to moisture and temperature fluctuations. The composition easily penetrates into the surface pores of wood, where it polymerizes under the action of ultraviolet light, forming a strong film on the surface. It protects the floor from dust and moisture, household and food pollution.
The effect of semi-open pores created by the coating, together with the technology of brushing, conveys the relief, depth and uniqueness of the natural texture of wood. Visually and to the touch, the surface covered with Silk Finish is the same as that of natural wood.
Easy care and renewal. Light silky-mat shine and relief texture mask marks, minor scratches and dents. The coating does not require labour-intensive maintenance, is easily restored during use, so its service life is practically unlimited.
Environmental Safety. The coating does not contain solvents and volatile components.
The Silk Finish is easy to maintain, easy to renew and restore without re-sanding the entire floor.
- Primary maintenance is carried out after the completion of all repair work, before starting to use the flooring. It includes dry and wet cleaning followed by waxing the floor to protect wood flooring.
- Regular maintenance is performed as needed, but at least once every 4-7 days. It includes dry and wet cleaning using a Cleaner for oiled and hardwax-oiled hardwood floors.
- Renewal. Those areas that are subjected to the greatest stress, when signs of wear appear, are easily restored with Renewer oil for oiled and hardwax-oiled hardwood floors. The product is applied directly on top of the existing coating, without pre-sanding, which makes the process easy and fast. After such maintenance, the coating completely restores its original appearance and strength.
Depending on the load, partial renovation of parquet floors in residential premises is recommended 1-2 times a year, in public premises with intensive use – 1-2 times a month. Complete renovation of the parquet floor – every 3-5 years and 2-4 times a year, respectively.
- Restoration and local repairs, as a rule, do not require the dismantling of damaged planks or resanding of the entire floor.
Minor scratches and defects are removed with soft wax pencils, then the surface is covered with oil.
To restore small abrasions in places where the coating has worn down to unprotected wood, a preliminary sanding is performed, a stain of the appropriate color is applied, then the surface is treated with oil.
After a local repair, we recommend that you carry out a Renewer oil for oiled and hardwax-oiled hardwood floors to even out the gloss in all areas.
Hardwood floors coated with Silk Finish can be installed both in residential and public buildings: in apartments and houses, offices and restaurants, hotels and shopping centers. Light silky sheen and embossed texture mask marks, small scratches and dents. The finish does not demand labor-intensive maintenance, is easily restored during use.
With proper care and timely renewal, the flooring will look presentable for many years.
